Yes, right now the purging takes place once a day. At the next import, the plugin won't find the purged posts and will therefore import them again. So yes it's not perfect logic. However it won't import those feed items that were removed from the original RSS feed.
At the end of the day, you're therefore doing some limiting, but we'll see how we can improve this further.
